Steamed Chocolate Pudding

Preparation Time: 25 minutes
Cooking Time: 3 hours on high

Ingredients

150g butter or margarine
150g self raising flour
3 medium eggs
Milk
150g sugar
1tsp vanilla extract
2x18g Cadbury Freddo bars
50g Cadbury drinking chocolate
Kettle of boiling water

Method

  1. Grease a 1 litre Pyrex bowl, grease some greaseproof baking parchment to line the inside of the bowl and make the cooked pudding easier to remove
  2. Beat the butter and sugar together until pale and fluffy
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract and beat until fully combined
  4. Sieve in the self raising flour and cocoa into the mixture until well combined
  5. Add the chopped Freddo bars – leave them chunkier to get chocolate chunks in the pudding or smaller for the chocolate to melt into the mixture
  6. Pour the mixture into the lined bowl
  7. Place the bowl into a sslow cooker and pour the warm water around the bowl until the sll three quarters up the side of the basion
  8. Cook the pudding on high for three (3) hours and test with a cake tester
  9. If the cake tester can be pushed into the pudding and comes out clean then the pudding is done
